Caravan Online Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-26-v1 · effective 2026-10-26
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1 Caravan Online (the "game", including its websites, apps, wiki, community and related services) is run by one individual in the Republic of Korea ("we", "us"). You reach us at [email protected].
1.2 These terms apply whenever you use the game, as a guest or with an account, on any platform. If you do not agree with them, do not use the game. Rules we publish for a part of the game (for example for an event, the wiki or paid features) form part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data.
2. Age
2.1 You must be 14 or older to use the game. You confirm this before you play.
2.2 If we learn that a player is under 14, we may close that guest or account and delete its data. A parent or guardian who thinks a child is playing can write to us.
3. Accounts and characters
3.1 You may play as a guest, or with an account created with a login id and password, with a sign-in service, or, where offered, through a platform or app store. A guest exists only as long as your browser or device keeps its key.
3.2 Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account unless it happened without your fault. If someone else uses your account, we handle your report with ordinary care and may help restore what our records allow, but we do not have to restore it unless the loss was our fault.
3.3 One account per person, unless we allow more. We may limit the number of characters, accounts and connections.
3.4 You may not sell, buy, rent, lend, share or give away an account or character.
4. Our rights in the game
4.1 The game and everything in it, including its world, story, characters, names, logo, mascot, 3D models, textures, animations, images, icons, interface, music, sound, text, code, data, game items and design (the "game's assets"), belong to us or to our licensors, and all rights are reserved. We have the right to use all of them, including the music, commercially. They are not free or open content, even though your device downloads files to run the game. The menu's Licences page lists the open-source parts and their licences.
4.2 We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the game for your own entertainment under these terms. Nothing else is licensed to you.
4.3 Gameplay recordings. You may record, stream and take screenshots of the game, and publish videos, streams, screenshots and guides that show its gameplay, with the game's music and sound as they play during it. You may earn money from them.
4.4 Fan works. You may make and share the following, but not for money ("fan works"):
- fan art, fan fiction and cosplay;
- wallpapers and profile pictures for your own use;
- community wikis and fan sites that use screenshots, short quotations of the game's text and information the game shows while you play;
- mods made with modding tools we provide, under the rules we publish with those tools.
Not for money means that you do not sell a fan work, charge for access to it, or receive payment, advertising income or donations for it. Nothing published under section 4.3 or this section may present itself as official or as made, approved or sponsored by us. We may withdraw the permission in section 4.3 or this section for a particular work or use that harms the game or its players.
4.5 Uses that need our written permission. Without our written permission you may not:
- extract, download or copy the game's files or data, such as models, textures, animations, images, icons, music and sound files, code and game data, from the game, its apps, its downloads or its network traffic, except the copies section 4.8 allows;
- publish, upload or redistribute any of the game's assets on their own, including the music or sound as tracks apart from gameplay;
- use any of the game's assets in another game, app, mod, asset pack or other work, except as sections 4.3 and 4.4 allow;
- make merchandise from the game's assets or from fan works, or sell any of the game's assets;
- use the game's name, logo or mascot as the name, logo or brand of a product, service, business, account or website, except the game's name used to say that a work under section 4.3 or 4.4, or the account or website that publishes it, is about the game;
- use the game or its assets with artificial-intelligence or machine-learning systems as section 4.7 describes.
4.6 Contract. Sections 4.3 to 4.11 bind you as a contract whether or not copyright or another right protects a particular part of the game, including parts made with AI tools. They do not restrict a use that a law allows despite any agreement to the contrary.
4.7 AI and machine learning. The text of our public web pages on caravanonline.net and wiki.caravanonline.net may be read, indexed, cited and used to train artificial-intelligence systems, by search engines and AI crawlers as our robots.txt allows. Everything else in the game is closed to AI. Without our written permission you may not use the game or any part of it, including its code, data, images, 3D models, textures, animations, sounds and music, the files your device receives to run it, the game host play.caravanonline.net, and screenshots and recordings of it, to train, fine-tune, test, evaluate or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system, to build a dataset for one, or to have one analyse, extract, describe, reproduce or imitate it. You may not scrape, crawl, mine or bulk-collect any of it by automated means. Whatever you learn it from, our public pages included, you may not use AI or any other means to make a copy, clone or imitation of the game, to rebuild it from a description in a clean room or otherwise, or to make cheats, bots or macros for it. We expressly reserve these uses, including text and data mining under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and any similar law, and our websites state the same reservation in machine-readable form (robots.txt, /.well-known/tdmrep.json and the noai rules in our response headers). This section does not stop you from publishing recordings as section 4.3 allows, or from using the accessibility and translation features of your own device or browser while you play.
4.8 Copies and the official cache. The only copies of the game's files you may keep are those the official cache keeps: the copies that the game, its official apps and your browser store on your device by themselves in order to run the game. You may not download, save, copy, extract or keep the game's files or their contents in any other way or place, for example from your browser's developer tools, a network capture, a download tool or a copy of the cache, and you may not share, upload, publish or redistribute them. Screenshots and recordings that section 4.3 allows are not affected.
4.9 Official clients only. Only the official clients may connect to or interact with the game and its servers. The official clients are the game as we serve it from our websites, the apps we publish ourselves or through app stores and game platforms, and any other client we approve in writing, each unmodified and as we provide it. You may not connect to, play or interact with the game through any other client or program, including a third-party, modified, patched, emulated or reimplemented client, a headless client, a proxy or other program that reads or changes the game's traffic, or a program that automates, imitates or replaces the client or its player, and you may not make, offer or distribute such a client or program. This does not stop you from running an official client in the browser or on the device of your choice, from connecting through an ordinary network, VPN or firewall that does not read or change the game's traffic, or from using the ordinary features of your browser or device, such as accessibility, translation, zoom, screen capture and your own input devices and their settings, as long as they do not change how the game works or play it for you.
4.10 No tampering or analysis. You may not decompile, disassemble, decrypt, deobfuscate or reverse engineer the official clients or any part of the game; datamine, inspect, extract or analyse the client's code, files and stored data, its memory while it runs, or the network traffic between it and our servers; intercept, read, record, change, inject or replay that traffic; or tamper in any other way with the client, its files, memory, storage or traffic, whether by hand or with tools such as debuggers, memory editors, packet capture, proxies, browser developer tools, scripts or extensions. You may not publish, share or use what you obtain this way, such as unreleased content or a description of how the client talks to our servers, and you may not make, offer or distribute tools for any of it. The open-source parts listed on the Licences page remain available under their own licences. Breaking section 4.9, this section or section 4.11 is a serious breach of these terms: we may take any measure in section 10, including closing all your accounts immediately and permanently, bring the claims in section 10.5 and report it under section 10.6.
4.11 Information for interoperability. If a program you have created independently needs information to work with the game, that information is available from us: ask at [email protected]. Because it is available, you do not need to decompile, disassemble or otherwise analyse the game to obtain it, and doing so is not permitted, except where a law still allows it despite this. Where a law gives you that right, you may use it only within the limits and for the purpose that the law sets, and sections 4.9 and 4.10 still apply to everything else.
5. What you submit
5.1 "Submissions" are everything you create, send or show through the game: chat messages, names of characters and guilds, other text, wiki edit requests, feedback, bug and vulnerability reports, suggestions and ideas, and any other material.
5.2 To the extent the law permits, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, perform, display, distribute, create derivative works from and otherwise exploit your submissions in any form and medium, in the game and outside it, for any purpose, including commercial purposes. The licence continues after your account is deleted or these terms end.
5.3 To the extent the law permits, you agree not to assert moral rights or similar rights against us, our licensees or our successors over the use of your submissions, including the right to be named and the right to object to changes. We may use your submissions without naming you.
5.4 We may use ideas, suggestions and feedback freely, without any duty of confidentiality or payment. Any reward we give for a submission is at our discretion and does not change the rights in this section.
5.5 You confirm that you have the right to grant this licence, that your submissions do not infringe anyone's rights, and that they follow these terms. We may refuse, edit or remove any submission.
5.6 Feature requests and feedback. You can send requests for features or for new official clients, for example for another device or platform, and feedback on the game and its clients to [email protected] or through a feedback channel we provide in the game or on our websites. They are submissions under this section, so sections 5.2 to 5.4 apply to them, and we decide whether and how to act on them.
6. Game items, coins and diamonds
6.1 Coins, diamonds, items, titles, memberships and everything else of value in the game ("game items") are licensed to you for use in the game under these terms. Diamonds come in two kinds: diamonds you get in the game, and radiant diamonds, which only money buys; "diamonds" in these terms means both unless a sentence names one. They are not your property, have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, except a refund the law or our refund rules give you.
6.2 Radiant diamonds can never be traded, transferred or given to another player or account. Diamonds you get in the game can change hands only through the game's own trading features, and diamonds given as some rewards are bound to the account. Some game items, including some obtained with radiant diamonds or from paid products, are bound to the account and cannot be traded, or can change hands only in the ways the game offers for them, for example a single sale through a system exchange.
6.3 Trading game items, accounts or characters for real money or anything outside the game is forbidden, including buying, selling, offering, advertising or arranging it, in the game or elsewhere.
6.4 We may change, rebalance, limit or remove game items and their prices and uses for a valid reason: game balance, a bug or error, security, a change in the law or a decision of an authority, a change to the game's graphics, characters or systems, or the end of a feature. We may remove game items obtained by breaking these terms, by a bug or by a mistake. If you live in the European Union, we tell you clearly about a change to paid digital content you hold; where the change is more than a fix that keeps it working as described and has more than a minor negative effect on it, we tell you reasonably in advance by email or in the game, and you may end your contract for that content free of charge within 30 days of being told, in which case we refund the part you paid for and can no longer use.
6.5 Game items that cannot be traded today may become tradable if our systems, the game's rating or the law change, if running the game requires it, or at our discretion. This is not a promise, and it may never happen.
7. Paid features
7.1 The game is free to play. We may sell paid features, such as radiant diamonds, memberships and cosmetic items. The price and the main conditions are shown before you buy. Payments may be handled by a payment processor (on the website, Korea PortOne Inc. with KG Inicis Co., Ltd.) or the platform you play on, under its own terms.
7.2 Where a paid product gives game items at random, its probabilities are published at least as the law requires.
7.3 Your rights under Korean consumer law are not limited by these terms, including the withdrawal of an order under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래법 제17조) and the right of a minor or their legal representative to cancel a purchase made without the representative's consent (민법 제5조). Where that Act allows it, withdrawal is not available for digital content once its supply has begun, for example radiant diamonds that have been used.
7.4 Paid features are subject to these terms and to any rules for them that we publish.
7.5 We may change the price and contents of anything we sell; this does not change what you have already bought. If the price of a membership you pay for automatically goes up, we tell you and ask for your agreement before the higher price applies. If you do not agree, automatic payment stops before the next payment.
7.6 Charges made by mistake. If you were charged more than the price shown, charged twice or charged through our error, write to [email protected] with your login id, the date and the amount. When our records confirm it, we refund the amount charged in error through the payment method you used, or by bank transfer where that is not possible.
7.7 How to withdraw or cancel. To withdraw an order or cancel a purchase as section 7.3 allows, write to [email protected] with your login id and the purchase, or use the game's purchase screen where it offers this. The purchase and what it gave you are taken back, and we refund through the payment method you used within the time the law sets.
7.8 Defects. If a fault in the game or our servers that we are responsible for makes paid game items or paid membership time you bought disappear or become unusable, report it to [email protected] with your login id and what happened within 90 days of noticing it. After checking our records, we restore what was lost or, where that is not possible, give game items, diamonds or membership time of similar value, as we choose. This does not cover a loss caused by a breach of these terms, by your device or network, by other players, or by a change under section 6.4 or 11, except as the law requires.
8. Rules of play
8.1 You must not:
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or insult other players, or post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content;
- post another person's personal information;
- spam, advertise, or promote other services;
- pretend to be us or another person;
- use cheats, bots, macros, automation, any unauthorised program or a client that is not official, or modify or analyse the game, its client, data or network traffic (sections 4.9 and 4.10);
- exploit a bug or error, or fail to report one you find;
- create or use multiple accounts to gain an advantage, or share accounts;
- use a VPN, proxy or other means to hide where you live in order to get around regional limits on features or regional prices;
- attack, overload, probe or break into the game, its servers or other players' accounts, except as section 9 allows;
- scrape, crawl or collect data or content from the game, its files or its players by automated means, beyond reading our public pages as section 4.7 allows;
- do anything illegal, or help or encourage anyone to break these terms.
8.2 You can block players and report messages in the game.
8.3 We decide an account's region from the signals we have, such as where it signed up and how it pays, and may correct it. Where we cannot tell, we may apply the rules for the Republic of Korea.
9. Testing and vulnerability reports
9.1 You may test the game's security, look for item duplication or other exploits, or run bots or macros against it only with our prior written permission, on test characters we agree, without gain for yourself or others, and without harm.
9.2 Even with permission you may not disrupt or overload the service, access, change or destroy other players' data or accounts, or use social engineering against us or others.
9.3 Report what you find only to [email protected] and do not disclose it to others before we allow it. We may reward a report that follows these rules, at our discretion. Testing outside these rules breaks these terms.
10. Enforcement
10.1 When a player breaks these terms or the law, or threatens the safety or fairness of the game, we may warn them, mute their chat, reduce rewards, limit trading or features, remove or take back game items, coins, diamonds, progress and other gains obtained through the breach, including those moved to other accounts, reset characters, or suspend or close guests and accounts, temporarily or permanently. Where a breach is serious or repeated, we may close permanently every account and guest that the person holds or uses and refuse them new ones. We choose the step according to how serious and repeated the breach is, and may act immediately where the game or other players need protection.
10.2 These measures may be decided and applied automatically by systems that detect cheats, bots, macros, multiple accounts and abuse (Privacy Policy, section 4).
10.3 Appeals. If you think a measure is wrong, write to [email protected] with your login id or character name. You can ask for an explanation and for a review with human involvement.
10.4 Game items, diamonds and memberships lost through a measure taken because you broke these terms are not refunded, except as the law requires.
10.5 What a breach costs. Besides the measures above, if you break these terms or the law, in particular sections 4, 6.3, 8 or 9, you must pay us, as far as the law allows:
- all the loss the breach causes us, including lost income and the costs of detecting and investigating the breach, repairing its effects, restoring the game and its data and enforcing our rights, such as the work of staff and experts;
- at least everything you gained from the breach. Where you gained money or anything else of value from it, for example by selling, renting or distributing cheats, bots, hacks, unofficial or modified clients, private servers, accounts, characters or game items, or by selling services such as boosting, the amount of that gain is the amount of our loss, or our actual loss where that is larger;
- increased and statutory damages where the law provides them, for example up to five times the loss for intentional infringement of copyright (Korean Copyright Act, article 125(4)) and for intentional misuse of trade secrets (Korean Unfair Competition Prevention and Trade Secret Protection Act, article 14-2(6)), statutory damages for each work infringed (Korean Copyright Act, article 125-2), and in the United States statutory damages for each work infringed and for each act of circumvention and each tool, product, offer or service that circumvents our protections (17 U.S.C. §§ 504(c) and 1203(c)), up to three times higher for a violation repeated within three years of a judgment (17 U.S.C. § 1203(c)(4));
- legal costs, including lawyers' fees, as far as the law or the court allows them to be recovered.
Everyone who takes part in a breach or helps with it, including by making, selling, distributing, advertising or arranging cheats, bots, hacks, unofficial clients, private servers or trades for real money, is liable for these amounts together with the person who commits it, as the law allows (in Korea, Civil Act article 760). We may also ask a court to stop the breach, to have unlawful copies, programs and tools removed or destroyed and to secure our claims before judgment, and we may identify the people involved from the records we keep (Privacy Policy, sections 3 and 5) and through the procedures of courts and authorities. A court decides the final amount under the applicable law.
10.6 Crimes. Where a breach may be a crime, we may report it to the police, prosecutors or other authorities, file a criminal complaint and give them the information the law allows.
10.7 If you live in the European Union, when we restrict your account, your content or a feature for you, we tell you at the latest when the measure starts what it is, the facts and the provision of these terms it rests on, whether it was decided automatically, and how to appeal under section 10.3.
11. Changes to the game and the service
11.1 The game is a live service and changes often: features, balance, rules, maps and game items may be added, changed or removed.
11.2 Until version 1.0.0 the game is in development, and we may reset the world, including characters, coins, items, guilds and progress, in whole or in part.
11.3 We may interrupt, suspend or end the game or any part of it. If we end a paid service, we give any refund the law requires for paid content not yet used. If you live in the European Union, we give reasonable notice before ending the whole game, unless there is a serious reason to end it sooner.
12. No warranty, and our liability
12.1 The game is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be available, free of errors, or that progress or data will not be lost.
12.2 To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of game items, progress or data, for indirect or consequential loss, or for problems caused by other players, your device or network, or events outside our control. This does not limit our liability for harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or any right the law gives you that cannot be waived.
12.3 If you break these terms or the law and cause us loss, you are responsible for it as section 10.5 and the law provide.
13. Ending
13.1 You can stop using the game at any time and delete your account in the game or by writing to us.
13.2 We may end these terms with you under section 10 or if the game ends. Sections 4, 5, 6.1, 10.5, 10.6, 12, 14 and 15 continue after they end.
14. Changes to these terms
14.1 We may change these terms. Each version shows its version and effective date at the top of this page and applies from that date. Where the law requires your agreement to a change, we ask for it, and we may ask you to accept a new version before you next start the game. If you do not agree to a new version, stop using the game; you can delete your account.
15. Law and disputes
15.1 These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the competent court under Korean law. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live where its law gives you that right, and the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live still apply to you.
15.2 If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force, and the invalid provision applies to the extent the law permits.
15.3 Complaints. Write to [email protected] with your login id and what happened; we look into it and reply by email. If it is not settled, you may also apply to the Content Dispute Mediation Committee (콘텐츠분쟁조정위원회) or the Korea Consumer Agency, or bring proceedings as section 15.1 allows.
16. Language
16.1 English is the original text; the Korean text below says the same. Where a term is unclear, the reading more favourable to you applies.
